What to Expect

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church is a Pastoral-Sized Church, with members ranging from 9 months to 90 years old.

Our worship services are found in the Book of Common Prayer.  It is perhaps easiest to describe our spirituality, worship services and teaching as a blend of both Catholic and Protestant – the providential result of our unique history as a Church together with our common historic Faith shared with all Christians.

The overall atmosphere at St. Matthew’s is reverently causal.  We gather together with a reverent sense of God’s Presence among us, yet worshipers come in jeans and sneakers and sit along side those with dresses or jackets and ties.  We are Traditional in our approach, but don’t feel we have to be stuffy about it

We are a kid-friendly parish: we believe that we all need to worship, learn and grow together in the Lord’s House – including our infants and children.  We have facilities for Nursery Care, and areas to walk with children if they need to “get a little exercise”!  Many of us have “been there” and understand – and can help to make your time at St. Matthew’s more focused and meaningful.
